Retaining Walls

Retaining walls can be needed for a variety of reasons. They can be decorative and built just for pleasure, or they can be a necessity for building on an otherwise inaccessible site.

The material used for building retaining walls can be either a natural stone or man-made block.

Natural stone retaining wall materials include Lannon stone, limestone, and granite boulders. These walls are also referred to as 'rock walls.'

Retaining walls made with man made material is usually referred to as pre-cast walls.  The "blocks" of stone used to build these walls are made from a concrete mix and come in a very large variety of colors, sizes, and shapes.
